Hubby and I were sick for the last two weeks so I only managed to get one block done. I have more strips cut but no energy to sew them together. Hopefully I will get them sewn up in the New Year.
Happy New Year to all and all the best in 2016.
I had planned on using some Jinny Beyer fabric that I purchased 2 years ago but when I put them side by side they didn't do this pattern justice.
I love this Basic Grey Grunge by Moda. Hope I can purchase some more in 2016.
Have a safe and Happy New Year.

BOM - October
I've joined an online BOM over at Upstairshobbyroom.
Runner in the making as well as two place mats or another runner. The two blocks are made from the cut-off HSTs. I like the look of these. Need to add a small border, of white, and maybe some of the HSTs. Have not decided yet.

From ugly to beautiful
After my kaleidoscope quilt was finished I ended up with a lot of left overs. I usually just pitch these in my scrap bin and forget about them. But not this time! Why not make something. There was a lot of triangles shapes so I went to work.
This is what I started with. A mess!!!!
I cut out a triangle and used left over backing for the borders.
Next I squared up the triangle, added more borders and quilted it. I quilted it using WonderFil 40 wt Rayon.
This is how the mess looks when finished.
Orange seems to be my go to colour lately.

Baby Quilt
I went for coffee this morning with the neighbourhood ladies. We meet the last Wednesday of each month.
One of the ladies is a Grandmother for the first time, so I made her this baby quilt. She was very pleased and had tears in her eyes. What a wonderful thing for me to do she said.
Here is the back. The pattern is called You're A Rock Star from my LQS Earthly Goods Quilting

Kool Kaleidoscope
Here is my finished top. Need to piece the back and have it quilted.
This will be quilted by my friend on her long arm. I am very pleased
with how this turned out. I love how it all came together in the end.
I was a little worried about my colour choices but I listened to my
teacher (Kim Caskey) and believed in the process. Kim is a wonderful
teacher and the things she can do with her long arm are amazing.

Kool Kaleidoscope - Ricky Tims
I started a class on Saturday - Kool Kaleidoscope by Ricky Tims.
This is my first strata. (strip set)
This is my 2nd strata. (strip set)
The pattern calls for 10 strip sets - two of each. I have 3 done. Next class is not until July so I have lots of time and am thankful for that.
This class is lots of fun and a bit of a challenge. Hope my colour scheme works out in the end.

Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt - 2014
This is what I have finished so far. I have decided not to use the sashing that were made because when I put the greens up against the blocks --- well they just looked terrible.
I would like to know if I should use a medium to light grey to sash these blocks. I'm thinking that if I do use grey it will made this quilt less busy. What do you think?
Blocks finish 12" and I'm planning on 4 across and 5 down.with grey sashing and a boarder this should be a nice sized quilt to cuddle with.

Elephant Parade Top - Finished
Just finished this top today. Love how it looks. It took me awhile to complete with all the small pieces but I am very happy with the outcome.
Sorry the colours are not as bright as they are in person.
I'm hoping my friend will quilt this on her longarm because my quilting is still a work in progress. One day!!!
Will be showing this off at my guild meeting.

This is for my sister who lives in Oshawa and she doesn't know it's coming.
Hope she likes it.
