Just like the song - two out of three ain't bad.
I started this Xmas Table Topper in November, 2015 as part of the One Block Wonder QAL with Sandy at upstairshobbyroom.blogspot.ca
You can read about this topper here
I didn't notice the fly when I took this picture. He is not part of this topper, lol
I used a small saucer to mark the centre and quilted following the marks.
I used freezer paper cut outs for the trees and the stars.
One day I may learn how to free motion but for now I use what I can work with.

Q2 Finish-A-Long 2016 Finishes
I managed to get one quilt finished. I signed up for a lot of QALs and have done a lot of sewing but not much finishing.
I finished Tied up in Chains. This was a mystery quilt pattern designed by Ingrid Machtemes - Owner - Quiltessential Co.St. Albert, Alberta.
Started in 2014 and finished in 2016. The top was finished for two years but not quilted.

Binding preparation:
I did a two colour binding to give a break from the border.
This quilt was given to Grace at the show held by the coffee ladies. Grace is a very lovely young lady who is getting married in July. She is the live in care giver to a neighbour. The idea of a shower was emailed around and I suggested to the coffee group that if they paid for the quilting, I would provide the quilt top, batting and backing. They agreed and I took the quilt to my longarmer.

Here are a couple of pictures of Grace with her quilt.
Love the smile. She was so very pleased and so was I. It's a great feeling when your work is truly appreciated.
Tied up in Chains, lol.

Can you have enough pin cushions??
Not much has been done with my scraps as of late. Have been busy finishing up a quilt for a bridal shower (more on that in a later post).
I did manage to get two pin cushions done.
The one on the left is made for scraps from the jelly roll quilts that were made at the guild's November retreat.
You can see a picture that quilt here
The one on the right is a Wonder Cushion. It was made from scraps in my bin for various sizes and colours. It is not just just pins as you can see. It will also hold some wonder clips.
It was made using a pattern from Squeeze Quilts.
You can find the free tutorial here

Scraptastic Tuesday
My blogger friend Pam sent out a request for a chain made from scraps measuring 1 1/2" wide by no more than 4 1/2" long.
These chains will be pieced together to make quilts for charity.
I cut up scraps 1 1/2" by various lengths and sewed them together as a leader ender project. I ended up with a chain that was approximately 208" long, give or take an inch.
Here is a picture
Pam lives in the US so I included a few chocolate bars that you can only buy in Canada. She was quite happy with her package.
